The most spectacular part of the film is ofcourse the fighting scene. I wanted to show action that is virtually impossible, like flying and swinging the sword in the air. You'll be amazed what thread and tape can do. If you just remove it with Photoshop afterwards, nobody will notice. I started to use ironthread instead of nylonthread, after this scene, because you have more control over it. It doesn't keep on swinging. Everything is tied to the lights and closets (!). |

For the scene with the goat, again tape was required. This scene was originally never part of the scenario. I made this up along the way, like a lot of visual jokes. The first speer almost hitting the goat was first the main joke. When Harald later in the story looses his sword, I didn't had the goat in again yet. But without that, it didn't clearly show that the sword was kicked out of the hands of Harald. So I had to show a sword flying through the air. Well, then it is an obvious solution to have it ending up with the goat. The same for the helmet. I mirrored the whole scene, because of the direction the stuff is being thrown. |

Painter's tape to prevent the set from slipping, which still happened too many times. |

I think throwing the sword in the air is the coolest scene of the whole film. A tape holds the sword in the air. It didn't really matter how it hangs, it swings anyway. The most difficult part was actually moving the camera with it. And I think it worked out really well. In only one take! I didn't dare to do a second one, as they mostly do not work out to be any better. Mostly, not always! But I wasn't really convinced afterwards. Only once I added sound to it, it came alive! Now, it rocks! |

Here Leif is just being pulled forward by a piece of paper, in order to walk in a straight line. The tape next to it (right) is to make sure it is in a straight line. |
| This clip never made the film, but here you can clearly see the ironthread bended around the Klicky. It looks like a fluent and easy sequence, but every frame demanded a lot of work to have Leif hanging the way I wanted it too. |
